LYRICS

Kirčo na čardak sedeše
Pečeno jag(a)ne jadeše
Tsrveno vino piješe

Ot dolu ide Kaluka
Kaluka moma (h)ubava
Kirčo Kaluka dumaše
Kaluke, mome ubavo!

Zašto si tolko ubavo?
Ubava mome gizdava!
Na litse bela tsrvena
Na snaga tenka visoka!
Kircho was sitting on his balcony
Eating roast lamb and
drinking red wine

Kaluka, beautiful
young woman
Kircho said to Kaluka,
"Kaluka, beautiful woman!"

How can you be so beautiful?
Beautiful woman, pretty (woman)!
With a fair (white) face and red (cheeks)
and tall and slender (waisted).

Note: Kirčo is a diminuative of Kiril.
